GAMERGEAR
Find, compare, and buy the best gaming peripherals for your setup.
Context
As someone who enjoys playing video games, I know the difference high-quality peripherals can make to performance but finding the right gear isn’t always straightforward. My goal was to create a platform tailored to gamers, offering a smooth and engaging shopping experience that works seamlessly across devices.

Information-Rich, Without Overload
Provide detailed product specifications and comparisons while keeping layouts clean, ensuring users have the information they need without feeling overwhelmed.
Designed for All Devices
Optimised for mobile, tablet, and desktop, ensuring gamers can browse, compare, and purchase wherever they are.
Designed with You in Mind
Every feature of Gamer Gear is built around the needs of the gaming community. Whether you’re a competitive player searching for precision hardware or a casual gamer upgrading your setup, the platform combines detailed information with an effortless shopping flow.

Key Features
Personalised Recommendations
Along with featured products, the home page also creates tailored product suggestions based on browsing history and previous purchasesto help discover new gear that fits your preferences.

Product Pages
Each product page provides detailed specifications, high-quality imagery, and clear descriptions, helping users feel confident and informed when making a purchase.

Filtering & Sorting
Filter by brand, price, performance specifications, and user reviews to quickly narrow down your search. Sorting options make it simple to view products by popularity, rating, or latest releases.

Project Takeaways
01
Designing desktop first made adapting to mobile unnecessarily difficult. In future, I’ll design mobile-first to ensure consistency and avoid costly rework.
02
Recommendations were based mainly on browsing behaviour, missing the chance to use gamer-provided data like favourite genres or play styles. Next time, I’ll plan for richer personalisation from the outset.
03
I overlooked interactive features such as lightboxes, which would have improved engagement and confidence. In future, I’ll build these enhancements into the initial design.

Final Notes
Gamer Gear was an exciting opportunity to combine my UX design skills with my passion for gaming. The project challenged me to create an e-commerce experience that balanced technical detail with accessibility, making it simple for gamers to find the right equipment. The result is a platform that’s informative, responsive, and built to support players in elevating their game.
